Hola seres queridos!

Well this week went by so fast that I really don't have much to talk about. Also we didn't really take any pictures so I don't have any to send this week, sorry. :(

The week started out rough but ended up good!

We have been feeling super discouraged lately so we went to the mission offices on Thursday and had interviews with our mission president to get advice and to help us feel better. He told us some really good points and gave us blessings of strength. He compared us to Alma in Alma 8 in the Book of Mormon. He compared Serdan (where I live) to Ammonihah and that the moment we were talking to him was like when the angel appears to Alma and tells him to go back to Ammonihah and not give up. The comparison was super cool and we went back and read the whole chapter afterwards and loved it! He also told us that happiness comes from inside. If we depend on the world or other people or circumstances to be happy, we'll never be happy for long. We have to decide what our attitude is going to be and if we are going to be discouraged or not. Our mission president is seriously the best and it makes us so sad that he's leaving in 4.5 months :(

On Friday night we got our legs electrocuted.... haha. We were at the house of 2 of our investigators and they were talking about this new machine they bought and wanted us to try it out. So they massaged our feet (which felt amazing) and put them on this machine that uses electricity to hit nerve points in your foot or something and apparently it's supposed to help your body in some way. But yeah, my legs and feet were like seizing and I could feel the electricity going up my legs and it was so weird and yeah I want to do it again... haha.

Here if you're sick with anything their solution is to give injections... but they give you the needle and everything and you have to do it at home. My companion's knees have been acting up so their solution was to give her shots in her butt and it was the funniest thing and I'm so glad we don't do that in the US.

I just started reading the book "The Infinite Atonement" by Tad R. Callister and wow... I love it so much. I'm only on the 6th chapter out of like 27 and I've already learned so much about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. It really is amazing and something I wish everyone would appreciate. It is and He is literally our salvation and I am so thankful that someone loved me enough to suffer and die for me so that I could have eternal happiness.

Well this is the last week of the transfer so next Monday I'll be updating you on if me or my companion have transfers! We're really hoping we stay together for another transfer but we'll see what happens!

I had a page filled with random things I wanted to talk about this week, haha, but we'll see what I remember. This week was filled with so many ups and downs. It was one of the hardest weeks of my mission but also one of the better ones. Okay some random things:

* I love the church members in my area. We laugh so much and have so much fun with them. And this area is growing on me more and more, it's beautiful and I'm happy here!

* Downside to this area: Here I get the most attention I've ever gotten on my mission. We can barely go 5 minutes without guys ages 15 to like 40 making kissing noises or whistling or asking me to marry them. They're gross and it's super annoying. Even the women stare at me, but most of them are just glaring...

* We think we got asked on a date the other day... but we completely rejected them. We contacted these three 21-ish year old guys and they were talking to us for like 10 minutes asking us questions about the church, but then they were like "yeah we don't really want to talk about your church, but we'd love to take you out for soda and elotes when are you free?" We were all excited cause we thought they were interested in the church... yeah, they weren't haha.

* Yesterday I ate Mole de Pansa which is a "soup" of cow stomach... Ewww

* Fun fact: I fall off sidewalks sometimes. Actually a lot. Like 10 times per day. :)

* Here the people are super Catholic and they all worship images and their little statue idols. Everyone carries around baby Jesus dolls in the streets and it's super weird.

We had a really scary experience and really sad experience this week. Through both of them we realized how much Satan wants us to fail and will put anything in our way so we can't bring more people to the truth. We also realized how strong the power of God is and that he will always be there to protect us and help us, if we just ask Him.

Going to BYU and being a missionary makes you realize how awesome it is to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am seriously so thankful for the joy that the knowledge of the truth gives me, and the joy I get from seeing people change their lives through it. People mock the church all the time but I couldn't be more thankful to have it in my life. I didn't realize how important it was until being here on a mission. This church is the church of Jesus Christ and it is true. I have no doubt about that and I wish everyone could feel the same happiness that the gospel gives. I know a lot of you aren't members of the church, and if you aren't and want to know what makes it so different and so special, ask me about it. I'm almost an expert at talking about it now. (;

Guys... I'm Mexican!

Hola amigos!

Well this week was really good! I love the members here and I love my companion and we work really well together! I still don't know how to get anywhere in this area haha, but that's okay. 

Some things from this week:

* All the missionaries in my mission have to fill out this family history pamphlet and while I was filling it out (thanks to all the info my mom and grandma sent to me) I found out that I have family that was born and lived in Chihuahua, Mexico.  Even though I know that in no way does that make me Mexican, I thought it was cool so now I'm telling everyone that I'm part Mexican, hahaha.

* We had our 3 month interviews with our mission president on Wednesday and now I'm super excited to work hard and have success in this area. Interviews with President are the best.

* The other day we went with some church members to visit this woman named Erica. She is 30 something years old and she has this disease where she can't walk and it's really hard for her to make fluid motions and she can barely talk and takes a bit for her to understand things. She lives with her sister who is gone all day at work so she basically lives alone and is in bed all day. We went to go bring her food and had to help her eat it and had to help her go to the bathroom and everything. After we sang hymns to her and she was so happy and sang along. It was such a humbling experience... Wow. She didn't complain about anything and was super happy and smiley despite everything she goes through. She never really goes to church because she can't unless someone takes her. But on Sunday someone brought her to church and we were so happy to see her! But yeah, I'm so grateful to have health and a body and brain that function properly. I didn't realize how much I take that for granted until the other day being with Erica.

*  We have this investigator who's a little person and so is her daughter and they are so cool.  It is awesome teaching them because they have so many questions but then understand everything super well after we explain it.

* The other day I had a 7 year old in a Spiderman costume giving me advice on my life and what type of person I should marry and what I should do with my life after the mission, hahaha. He seriously talks like he's an adult and it's hilarious. And he was telling us all about these girls that are fighting over him and all about his plans for when he grows up. He says he's just gonna work and give the money to his wife so she does everything... hahaha, atta kid!

*  On Friday it was my 6 monthaversary in the mission!! Wooh!! Now I have less than a year left in the mission. The time has seriously gone by so fast and this time next year I'll be home! I'm still loving the mission though(:

Wow this week has been interesting... I seriously felt like it was my first week in the mission field all over again. New area that I don't know, new companion that I don't know, a ward/members that I don't know. I was super sad and nostalgic and was missing my old area so much. I never thought I'd say it but I actually have been missing my old area more than home (besides my family). (: But yeah I've just been feeling really alone lately but I just need to trust in the Lord more and I know everything will be okay. (:

So now I'll tell you all about Transfers. We waited forever for the bishop to take us to the bus station so when we got to transfers 5 minutes late, they had closed and locked the gates to the church so we had to wait outside with like 6 other missionaries until the meeting was over before we could go in. Needless to say, when they called my companion's name I wasn't there to greet her and give her a hug and I felt SO bad.  :( Also I had to try and figure out what zone and area we were in. My zone is called La Libertad Norte and my area is called Aquiles Serdan 2. (Aquiles Serdan ward) I'm in Puebla like 20 minutes away from the mission offices... and far away from my other area. :(  I really thought I was going to stay in Tlaxcala for longer. Hopefully I get transferred back there soon because I love it there.

My new companion is Hermana Camas (yes, Sister Beds haha) and she's from Yucatan, Mexico. She's 21 years old. She's really sweet and really wants to be a good missionary and work hard. She's just a little shy and I've been trying a lot but we haven't really gotten to be much of close friends yet. I love her though!

My new area is a lot different than before. It's a lot more city-like and the people are a lot harder and closed off. It's smaller than my other area so we never take combis and walk everywhere. We never get to go into a different city or anything like in my other area because the church and everything we need to go to is close. So we pretty much see the same thing every day 5 times a day. :/  The members in our ward have helped us a lot and they are SUPER involved with missionary work. They have helped us a lot since we don't know the area or the people at all, especially the Ward Mission Leader and his wife.

Our 2nd day we got super lost in our area and it took us like an hour to find our house when it was only a 10 minute walk... and we were even with a member haha.

Our house... I never thought I'd say this but I'm pretty sure I liked my other house better. We don't have light in our room and so far I have found a gecko,  a "small" tarantula, and a bunch of cockroaches in our house. But the missionaries that were here before us already had a new house set up so we're just waiting until the person who's gonna rent it to us finds the keys and can show it to us. Pray for us!

Oh fun fact: Elder Estes, one of my friends from my MTC district, is my new district leader so that's pretty cool.

Well I'm pretty sure that's it! I know this next week will be better but I could really use your prayers. You are all awesome and I love and miss you so much.

"Hermano, tiene `Pepto Bismal: 5 problemas, 1 solucion`?"- Elder Carrasco

As I'm writing this my emotions are all over the place because....family guess what? I'm gonna be a mom!!! Okay for the people who don't understand that, it means I'm going to be training a brand new missionary for the next 2 transfers (3 months). Ahhhhh I'm so nervous! I still feel so new and now I have to train someone else. 

On top of that, we have to open an area... which means we are both going to be new in the area and we both aren't going to know anyone or know where anything is and we're basically going to have to start from scratch. WHAT? I don't know how to do that, haha. I still think President made a mistake or something....

So yeah this week has been pretty sad for me because I had to say goodbye to everyone here. I was actually crying in church yesterday saying goodbye. And tomorrow I have to say goodbye to the best district ever and my companion who is like my best friend. :( So yeah, I can't tell if I'm excited or nervous or sad or anxious or all of the above... and I'll have a lottt to update you on next week!

Okay well a couple of the things that happened this week:

* This new member in our ward who just got back from his mission this year invited me and my companion over to do a service project for him and his family on Tuesday. When we got there they put us to work cutting and stripping bamboo to build a chicken house. It was fun but hard under the sun that was super intense that day.

* For New Years Eve, the bishop's family had a party at their house and invited us and it was so fun. Everyone was dancing and laughing and they fed us a super good dinner. We may or may not have stayed a little later than we should have... haha but it was so fun we just couldn't leave. We were happy that we had something to do for New Years instead of just sitting in our house!

* Our investigator Marta has a dog that just had puppies and they are the cutest things ever. The 3 that we like the best we named Sierra, Joel, and Dario (after me and 2 of the Elders in our district who were there). We have gotten to play with them a lot the past few days and I'm in love with them and was so close to trying to send one home (sorry mom...).

Well that's pretty much what happened this week! Keep me in your prayers with this whole being a trainer thing haha. I love and miss you all and hope you had an awesome New Years and that 2015 treats you well(:

Well this week went by really fast and I forgot to write down random things that I wanted to talk about...oops.

Christmas was awesome and I was so happy to get to talk to my family and see their faces!(: And shoutout to Kaylee and Christian for showing up to see me(: So yeah I was super happy after talking with everyone. We had Christmas Eve dinner with a family in another ward in our stake and it was super good! It tasted almost like the flavor of enchiladas so that kinda made my life because I still haven't even seen a single enchilada here. :(

On Christmas day literally nobody was home so we ordered a pizza for our district in the church and we talked a little bit with the Elders' families since they talked with them on Christmas day instead of Christmas eve. 

Really this whole week was unsuccessful because EVERYONE was gone with their families for the holidays so we didn't have a lot of lessons or anything :( But now it's a new week and people should be coming home.

We're excited because for New Years we're spending it with the same family as Christmas Eve and also maybe the Bishop's family(: Hopefully I don't die from all the cuetes we'll be lighting off. (;

Yeah I don't really have much to talk about but I hope Christmas was amazing for all of you and that you were able to feel all the joy of the holidays. (: I know that Christ lives and that through him we can have eternal life and eternal happiness. I know that He and our Father in Heaven love us more than we could ever imagine and that as long as we have faith and trust in them we are capable of overcoming any and every trial we have in our lives. I am so happy with the Gospel in my life and it makes me so happy to be able to share that with other people here in Mexico.

Feliz (casi) Navidad amigos!

You guys don't even know how much I wish I could be in the US and with all of you this Christmas :( I've actually been having dreams every night for the past week that I'm spending Christmas at home... But oh well! I'm super excited because in 2 days I get to Skype my family and see their faces for the first time in 5 months so that'll be the highlight of all of my mission so far.

Okay well this week not much happened that was super exciting. But one thing that has been occupying all of our "free" time is a thing called Cuetes. They are basically the fireworks that don't explode up in the air all pretty... The "ground" fireworks I guess you could say. Everyone here loves them. All throughout the night you here mini explosions everywhere. The Elders love to throw them at us and it scares the crud out of me haha but it's fun I guess. Also, we bought lighters so we could light them off and Hermana Pasten and I are pretty much burning everything in our house. Whenever we are sitting down in our house to plan or anything we are burning random things with our lighters. So yeah that's been the most exciting thing of our week.

Something cool that happened: Our most recent convert Sandra has been having really bad migraines and stress so the Elders gave her a blessing of health the other night. We told her that it would work according to her faith. The next day we saw her and she came running up to us and said that she felt no pain at all since the blessing and she told all of her family (who aren't members) about it. So that was super cool and a testimony building experience.

Yeah I don't really have much more to say about this week. But I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and don't forget the reason for the season. Jesus Christ was the best gift we could ever receive. Through him we have the opportunity to live forever with our Father in Heaven after this life. We have the opportunity to be free of our sins, pains, and all kinds of suffering.

I hope you all know how much I will be missing you this Christmas. Enjoy it and show as much love as you can(:
